Armorsmith Designer uses a one-time purchase model through Gumroad. Each paid seat licenses one named individual on up to three computers, with all future updates included at no extra cost. Your serial number is an activation credential for that seat; sharing a serial number does not authorize additional users. Studios need a separately paid seat for every user, whether or not they use the software simultaneously. See the Licensing guide. If you need to update the app, recover a lost serial number, or move to a new PC, everything you need is covered below.

Update Armorsmith Designer

  1. Save your work.
  2. Choose Help → Check For Updates.
  3. Follow the prompts if an update is available.
You can also download the installer from your Gumroad purchase and run it over the existing installation. For the background startup check and its opt-out, see Automatic startup update checks.
Your serial number is always retrievable from your Gumroad account as long as you have access to the email address used at purchase. To find it:
  1. Log in to gumroad.com.
  2. Go to Purchases and find Armorsmith Designer — your serial number is displayed on the purchase details page.
If you no longer have access to that email address, contact support at TheArmoredGarage@gmail.com for assistance.
No. Armorsmith Designer is a one-time purchase that includes all future updates. Once you’ve bought it, you can update to any newer version at no additional cost using either of the methods described above.
You can activate your assigned seat on a replacement machine using its purchase email and serial number during first launch. The three-computer allowance covers the same named individual. Contact support for help replacing a device or resolving activation errors. To activate on a new PC:
  1. Install Armorsmith Designer on the new machine.
  2. When prompted for a serial number, enter the one from your Gumroad account.
  3. If you need to look up your serial number, log in to gumroad.com, go to Purchases, and find it under Armorsmith Designer.
License errors can result from incorrect credentials, connectivity, or repeated activation attempts. Contact support if reinstalling or replacing your hardware prevents activation; do not buy another seat solely to clear an activation error.Steps to resolve:
  1. Double-check your serial number against the one shown in your Gumroad account — watch for zeros vs. the letter O, and ones vs. lowercase L.
  2. Make sure you are entering the serial number exactly as shown, including any hyphens.
  3. Use the purchase email associated with the serial number for your assigned seat. For studio purchasing, this may be different from your own email.
  4. Check that your internet connection is active, as activation requires a connection to verify your license.
  5. If the error persists, contact TheArmoredGarage@gmail.com with your purchase email and a screenshot of the error.
All purchases and license information are managed through Gumroad. You can access your account, re-download the installer, and retrieve your serial number at any time by logging in at https://gumroad.com.
Save your serial number somewhere safe — such as a password manager or a dedicated notes file — as soon as you purchase. This makes it easy to retrieve if you ever reinstall, switch computers, or can’t access your Gumroad account.

Automatic startup update checks

The full Designer build checks for updates in the background once its main window is ready. If a newer valid update is found, Update Available asks whether to download and install it. Choose Yes to proceed or No to continue working. The check does not install an update without that choice. Select Don’t ask me again in that prompt to disable automatic startup checks. You can still choose Help → Check For Updates manually. Startup checks are not installed in the trial build. An unsuccessful background request can finish without a message. Silence alone does not confirm that you have the latest version; use the manual check when you need to verify.
