Armorsmith Designer is a one-time purchase per named individual. Each paid seat licenses one person, with no subscription or renewal fee. All future Armorsmith Designer updates are included for that seat at no additional cost.

One person per paid seat

If you use Armorsmith Designer, you need an assigned paid seat. Studios and other organizations must maintain a separately paid seat for every employee, contractor, or other individual authorized to use the software on their behalf. This applies whether or not those individuals use it simultaneously. Six people using Armorsmith require six paid seats, even if only two use it at once. Seats, serial numbers, license keys, and activation credentials may not be shared or pooled among active users. A shared workstation, remote connection, or virtual desktop does not remove the requirement for a seat for each user. An administrator may keep purchasing and assignment records, but needs an assigned seat to use Armorsmith themselves.

Up to three computers for the same person

The individual assigned to a paid seat may install and use Armorsmith on up to three computers. Those installations all belong to the same person’s seat; they do not cover three different people. If you need more installations or help replacing a computer, contact TheArmoredGarage@gmail.com.

Purchasing and managing studio seats

Purchase a separate paid seat for each user through Gumroad. For studio purchasing, invoicing, or help assigning purchases to employees and contractors, contact TheArmoredGarage@gmail.com. Do not assume that one purchase or serial number covers the entire studio. Keep a record of each seat’s purchase and assigned individual. If a contractor brings a license, confirm that it authorizes that individual to do the work under the agreement governing that license. Do not count the same seat as assigned to two different people.

Replacing a team member

You may reassign an organization-owned seat when its assigned individual leaves or permanently stops using Armorsmith for the organization. Before the replacement uses it:
  1. Remove the previous individual’s access to that seat.
  2. Update your seat assignment records.
  3. Contact The Armored Garage to arrange the licensing change.
Reassignment does not allow daily rotation between active users, pooling, resale, or transfer to another organization. There is currently no self-service studio seat-management interface.

Receiving exported files

Receiving or using exported patterns, models, or other output does not by itself require an Armorsmith seat. Anyone who uses Armorsmith Designer to open, view, edit, or export a project needs an assigned seat. Rights to third-party models and other content remain subject to their own terms. An authorized demo or trial may be used only for evaluation within its supplied restrictions. A paid seat is required for production use.

Finding your serial number

Your serial number is generated by Gumroad at purchase. Activation uses the purchase email associated with that serial number; this email may differ from a studio employee’s own email. The purchase email is an activation credential, and does not determine how many people the seat covers.
  1. Log in to Gumroad and open your Library.
  2. Open your Armorsmith Designer purchase.
  3. Copy its serial number exactly, including hyphens and capitalization.
Your original Gumroad purchase confirmation email also contains the serial number. Keep purchase and licensing credentials secure; avoid giving employees access to a shared Gumroad purchasing account.

Activating on a new machine

If you replace your PC or reinstall Windows, install Armorsmith and enter the same purchase email and serial number for your assigned seat. Stay within the three-computer allowance for that individual. Contact support if replacement hardware or reinstallation causes an activation error.

Keeping Armorsmith Designer up to date

  • In-app update check: Choose Help → Check For Updates and follow the download instructions.
  • Manual download: Download the latest installer from your Gumroad library and run it over your existing installation.
Updates continue the same seat entitlement. They do not create another seat or authorize another user.

License agreement and earlier purchases

Read the End user license agreement for the full terms. The revised seat terms do not retroactively replace rights granted under an earlier agreement. They govern purchases under these terms and updates for which you accept the revised agreement. Contact support if you need to confirm how an earlier agreement applies to your organization.
